Adient celebrates 30 years of leadership in China

Adient marked the 30th anniversary of its business in China with a celebration Sept. 22 at the China Tech Center in Chongqing. Jerome Dorlack, president and CEO; Heather Tiltmann, chief legal and HR officer and corporate secretary; James Huang, executive vice president, APAC; and members of the APAC and China leadership teams and employee representatives gathered to celebrate the milestone and reflect on three decades of growth in the market.

Since entering China in 1996, Adient has grown alongside the country’s automotive industry. Today, Adient operates 39 manufacturing facilities and three global tech centers in China, providing seating solutions to more than 40 domestic and international original equipment manufacturers. Through continuous product innovation and manufacturing excellence, Adient has built a strong market presence and established itself as a leader in China’s automotive seating industry.

Looking ahead, Dorlack reflected on Adient China’s strategic importance and future opportunities.

“Thirty years ago, we began our journey in China with a vision, a commitment and a belief in the future of this market,” Dorlack said. “The dedication of generations of employees and the trust of our customers and partners have shaped our success. As we look ahead, I am confident that we have the right people, access to the right technologies, an outstanding manufacturing footprint and a strong customer focus to ensure that Adient China’s best chapters are still to come.”

As Adient embarks on its next chapter in China, the company remains committed to innovation, partnership and long-term growth, working closely with customers, employees and partners to shape the future of the seating industry.
