Adient’s Cristo Rey student speaks on The Automotive Leaders Podcast

Diego Vargas, a Detroit Cristo Rey (DCR) High School sophomore who works at Adient through the school’s unique Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), recently joined Joaquin Nuno-Whelan, the Cristo Rey board chair and the president of Lincoln, as a guest on The Automotive Leaders Podcast.

This interview opportunity highlighted the Corporate Work Study Program between DCR and Adient and featured the student’s perspective of the experience alongside the board chair, Joaquin. The conversation showcased the impact of the program and the partnership with leaders in the automotive community.

The Automotive Leaders podcast shared “[Vargas’s] voice brings a grounded, honest perspective on opportunity, growth and what young people need from today’s leaders. It’s a powerful reminder that the future of this industry will be defined by the leaders we develop now.”

Since 2011, approximately 60 students from DCR have worked at our Plymouth, Michigan location, gaining real-life job experience.
