Adient manufacturing facility named one of the best plants in North America
Automotive seating supplier’s Lerma, Mexico plant recognized by IndustryWeek with Best Plants Award
PLYMOUTH, Mich., March 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Adient’s seat manufacturing plant in Lerma, Mexico has been selected as one of the best plants in North America in IndustryWeek magazine’s 2017 Best Plants Awards competition.
Adient is the global leader in automotive seating. Its Lerma facility is a just-in-time (JIT) plant that assembles components such as metal seat frames, foam and complete seats and produces trim covers for major automakers.
The location has more than 800 employees.
The annual IndustryWeek Best Plants Awards program recognizes plants in North America that are on the leading edge of efforts to increase competitiveness; enhance customer satisfaction; and create stimulating and rewarding work environments.
All of the 238 plants in Adient’s worldwide manufacturing network follow the Adient Manufacturing System (AMS) to ensure operational excellence, which was a contributing factor in the plant’s selection.
