Meet Our Executive Leadership

Eric Mitchell

Executive Vice President

As Adient’s executive vice president, Eric leads the global seating business in Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, including the seating just-in-time manufacturing, foam, trim and fabrics businesses. In this role, Eric focuses on driving operational excellence through effective program execution and launch. He also oversees Adient’s global engineering, program management, quality, procurement and supply chain functions.

Furthermore, Eric leads our China operations, as well as the relationship with Yanfeng Automotive Interiors joint-venture, in which Adient holds a 30 percent equity stake.

Prior to his current role, Eric was responsible for cultivating strong customer relationships across the newly founded Adient company, defining the strategy for future innovations and establishing core marketing disciplines to increase commercial excellence capabilities.

Eric brings more than 25 years of experience in the automotive sector serving in multiple regional and global leadership roles, spending nearly two decades overseas including nine years in Asia and nine years in Europe.

Prior to Adient’s separation from Johnson Controls, he served as the company’s group vice president and general manager of the Automotive Experience Division in China, and as the Automotive Experience vice president of finance and change in Europe, Middle East and Africa. In addition, he ran Johnson Controls’ Power Solutions European operations as well as serving as vice president and general manager for the company’s North American Building Efficiency business unit.

Early in his career, Eric held a variety of financial and operational positions for TRW Automotive, where he served as regional finance director for Asia and Europe in Asia.

Eric holds dual degrees from the University of Michigan; a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in international business.

Eric and his wife, Rachel, have five children and are proud to call Detroit their home.
