As chairman and chief executive officer, Bruce brings his years of operational and financial experience to drive Adient’s strategic vision and progress toward the company’s Five Year Marker performance metrics.
He led our year-long separation from former parent company, Johnson Controls, where he had served as executive vice president and vice chairman since 2014.
He began his tenure with the company in 2001 as vice president and corporate controller. Later, he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) from 2005 to 2014 and, in 2008, was named America’s Best CFO in the auto industry by “Institutional Investor” magazine.
Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Bruce held a variety of operational finance positions at Varity Corporation in the United Kingdom. He also served in financial positions of increasing responsibility at TRW, including vice president of finance for TRW Automotive.
He serves as a board member of Dana Incorporated, a board member of the Milwaukee World Festival and a board member and treasurer of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County.
Bruce earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce from McMaster University. A chartered accountant and a certified public accountant, he started his career with Ernst & Young.
